Goodbye RageFX, hello eXiin !

You might’ve noticed lack of updates or anything else ( which is probably nothing new to you if you’ve been reading this blog for a while :P ), but there’s a good reason to that.

RageFX lasted long enough, I kind of ruined the whole development thing due to random problems and slow progress and the reason behind that was mostly laziness ( procrastination can be pretty powerful ) . Working on projects alone is never a good idea, loosing focus, interest or starting new projects every day will never get you anywhere.

This is time, I’ll be working along side with another talented developer on new projects ( and I’ll be bringing old projects back to life as well ) and we’ll be constantly kicking each other asses for accelerated development. We’ve been working together for few months already and things are progressing faster than ever !

One of the unexpected things that happened this year was getting my game accepted into this 3-day game expo.

I have to admit that this is completely new to me, I’ve never done such thing and to be honest I wasn’t even sure what I was signing up for.
Some big studios are gonna be swimming there like sharks, probably with a way higher budget than anything I’ve made so far - hopefully, I won’t get eaten up and overshadowed by the big fishes.

Anyway, I believe that showcasing my game during those days is gonna be a fun experience.

Marketing newb

As you can notice on this fancy graph, the moment when I stopped marketing ( aka paying those greedy review websites ) was the moment my game started loosing interest.

The fancy red line I drew, that was the day I stopped banging my head on the walls hoping to gain more popularity. Who would’ve thought marketing is a full time job? Heh, I didn’t ! ( well maybe a bit )

One of the biggest issues for my launch was forgetting to setup at least a minimal anti-pirating measures, and before I even realized that android was a sea of booty-hunters, my full game was already mirrored on thousands of sites. This made my heart cry :’(

That graph above is only for the free version and the one for people who actually bought the game is way too embarrassing to be shown anywhere at all. And unfortunately, when I said my game was doing great, that was just the first good weeks, but now it’s currently going nowhere.

Currently at this moment, I’m working on putting the game simultaneously on Windows Phone and iPhone through some friend’s company. Hopefully they’re gonna help me out with marketing as well because I’m not really good at that, considering that I lost more than I gained due to those expensive reviews.

No internet

Moved out to another place and all I have now is my shitty mobile connection. And when I say shitty, I mean that I’m on EDGE, which is almost like torture.

I’ll post an update on how ROTE is doing ( because it’s surprisingly doing quite well ) once I get my internet back ( hopefully in a week or sooner ).

Also, windows phone version delayed because of the same reasons, godamnit.
